On a summer evening in Lexington, Kentucky, the life of 31-year-old Montez Lamont Graves, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On June 7, 2015, shots rang out in the area of Whitney Avenue and Michigan Street. When police arrived around 6 p.m., they discovered Graves and his brother, Frederick Thomas Spillman, inside a car, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
