On a cold January afternoon in Louisville, Kentucky, a senseless argument over a simple breakfast dish tragically escalated, ending the life of 26-year-old Jasmine Newsome. On January 6, 2018, in the Park Hill neighborhood, what began as a verbal dispute over scrambled eggs culminated in Newsome being fatally shot in the doorway of her home on West Ormsby Avenue. The incident marked the city's first homicide of the year.
