Justin Noad, a 30-year-old resident of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, was found dead on May 8, 2018. His body was discovered in a remote wooded area, and the Elliott County coroner, Steven Whitt, confirmed that Noad had sustained gunshot wounds. The coroner indicated that Noad's body had been in the location for no more than a week before being found, and his family had previously filed a missing person's report.
