Chaves Moore, a 17-year-old male, was killed by gun violence on March 23, 2019, in Louisville, Kentucky. The shooting happened outside of a party in Shively. Friends and family remembered Moore, a student at Doss High School, as a 'wonderful young man and one heck of a football player and team mate' who 'had a huge heart and was always willing to step in to care for those who could not care for themselves.'
His family said, 'He always had that sparkle.'
Shively police investigated the shooting that led to the death of the teenager. A 15-year-old was arrested and charged in the shooting death of Moore. Funeral services for Cha'vez Joseph Moore were held on March 29, 2019, at Israel Baptist Church, followed by burial in Green Meadows Cemetery.
