In the early morning hours of June 1, 2012, a concerned family member's request for a welfare check led Louisville Metro Police to a home on Gagel Avenue. Inside, they discovered the body of 67-year-old David Thomas Allen, a white male and U.S. Army veteran. An autopsy would later reveal that he had died from multiple gunshot wounds in what investigators believed to be a targeted attack.
