On May 8, 2023, at approximately 10 a.m., 42-year-old Samuel Murrell was fatally shot in his residence on Mitchell Street in Wells, Texas. Emergency responders from the Wells Fire Department and EMS arrived promptly, but despite their efforts, Murrell was pronounced dead at the scene.
