On a summer evening in Louisville, Kentucky, the sounds of basketball and children playing at Victory Park were shattered by gunfire. On June 3, 2019, 17-year-old Devin Swann, a Black male, was fatally shot near the park's basketball courts. The incident unfolded around 9 p.m., causing panic as a black car reportedly approached the area and multiple shots were fired. Swann was struck in the back multiple times as he tried to flee the chaotic scene and succumbed to his injuries.
