On a Saturday night in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of 18-year-old Gregory James Jr. was tragically cut short. It was May 2, 2020, in the Chickasaw neighborhood, when a drug transaction escalated into a fatal encounter. James, a male student who was a senior at Doss High School, was with friends near the Grand Avenue Apartments when the situation turned violent.
