Do you know who murdered Christopher Fields? On a Saturday afternoon in the Beechmont neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, the life of 15-year-old Christopher Fields was tragically cut short. On October 19, 2019, inside a home on West Kingston Avenue, the young man was shot multiple times. Police responded to the scene around 1:45 p.m. and discovered Christopher gravely wounded. He was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
Christopher, a Black male, was remembered by his youth
football coach as a dedicated team player. His death was a devastating blow to his family and the community, marking the fourth player from his football program to be killed by gun violence in just four years. The Louisville Metro Police Department opened a homicide investigation into the shooting.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident, law enforcement had not publicly identified any suspects or established a motive for the shooting. The investigation remains open, and as of late 2019, no arrests had been made in connection with Christopher's death.
