Do you know who murdered Brandon Corcoran? On a Halloween night in 2016, as children were out trick-or-treating in the Russell neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, 29-year-old Brandon L. Jordan-Corcoran, a Black male, was shot and killed. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. at the intersection of 28th and Market streets, where he was found with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
Residents in the area reported hearing as many as a dozen gunshots.
Jordan-Corcoran's death was one of two separate fatal shootings that occurred in the same neighborhood just hours apart, sparking fear and distress among the community. His death was officially ruled a homicide by the coroner. For Brandon's family, this was not their first encounter with such a tragedy. In 2006, his 17-year-old brother, Brad Corcoran, was also shot and killed. While the family stated the brother's death was accidental, they expressed a belief that Brandon's murder may have been an act of retaliation.
Despite the passage of time, the investigation into Brandon Jordan-Corcoran's murder has grown cold. The Louisville Metro Police Department has made no arrests and has not publicly identified any suspects in the case. The investigation has been hampered by a lack of leads and limited cooperation from potential witnesses. In the years since his death, his family has continued to appeal to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case and bring them a sense of closure. The case remains an open and active homicide investigation.
