On a late summer evening in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of Zachary Maurice Stewart, a 52-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short. On September 3, 2020, he was found deceased in the 2400 block of Portland Avenue. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office would later confirm that he had died from multiple gunshot wounds.
