In the early morning hours of September 7, 2020, 31-year-old Lauren Woosley, a White/Caucasian female from Harrison County, Indiana, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the Shawnee neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. Louisville Metro Police officers responded to the scene in the 600 block of South 44th Street, near Shawnee Park, shortly after 4 a.m.
Woosley, a mother of three and a caretaker, was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in critical condition, where she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
Born on February 17, 1989, Lauren was a resident of Elizabeth, Indiana, and a member of the Marengo Christian Church. Her death was the 112th homicide in Louisville in 2020, a year that saw a record number of violent crimes in the city. The community mourned her loss, and her family requested that memorial contributions be made to her children's college funds.
