Samuel Figueroa, a 52-year-old male, was found with a fatal gunshot wound on the evening of Friday, March 12th. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 700 block of M Street, marking another grim statistic in the city's growing count of homicides for the year.
Emergency responders rushed him to the University of Louisville Hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead.
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Figueroa had made a life for himself as a mechanic and construction worker. Those who knew him remember a man who was the life of the party, a 'social butterfly' who loved to make people laugh with his jokes and pranks. His passions included working on cars, playing the guitar, and listening to Spanish music. He was a cherished father and grandfather, leaving behind a loving family who would deeply mourn his sudden and violent passing.
