In the spring of 2020, the life of 16-year-old Daniel Chaney, a White male, was tragically cut short in Louisville, Kentucky. On the evening of April 21st, shots rang out near the intersection of Nanz Avenue and Wiltshire Avenue in the St. Matthews area, a place Daniel called home. When police arrived around 10:45 p.m., they discovered the teenager suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency responders rushed Daniel to the University of Louisville Hospital in a desperate attempt to
save him. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after midnight, in the early hours of April 22, 2020. His death was a somber milestone, marking the first homicide in St. Matthews in two years.
The St. Matthews Police Department launched an investigation into the shooting, seeking to piece together the events that led to the teenager's untimely death. However, the case has proven to be a difficult one to solve. To date, no suspects have been publicly identified or taken into custody in connection with the murder of Daniel Chaney. Authorities have appealed to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case, but as of now, there have been no arrests, and those responsible for his death remain at large.
