In the spring of 2015, a confrontation inside a car in Louisville, Kentucky, ended the life of 26-year-old Joseph Starks. On April 29th, witnesses observed Starks getting into a black Oldsmobile sedan. Shortly after, the sound of multiple gunshots rang out from within the vehicle. The car then sped away with Starks still inside, marking the beginning of a three-day period before his body was discovered.
The grim discovery was made on May 2nd in the 1100 block of South 38th Street.
Joseph Starks had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The incident, which started as a missing person case, was now being investigated as a homicide. A nearby business's surveillance camera captured the moments leading up to the shooting, providing a crucial piece of evidence for law enforcement.
In December of that year, Louisville Metro police made an arrest in connection with the murder. Clifton Jones, 29 at the time, was taken into custody and charged with the killing of Joseph Starks. Following his arrest, Jones was booked into Metro Corrections as the sole suspect in the case.
