In the city of Louisville, Kentucky, a young man's life was tragically cut short in a violent act that continues to baffle investigators. On the 5th of March in 2022, the Louisville Metro Police Department received a call that led them to a grim discovery in an apartment in the 7100 block of Yorktown Terrace. Inside, they found the bodies of 19-year-old Michael Cooks and 21-year-old Maleke Seviour.
Both men had been shot multiple times, and emergency responders pronounced them dead at
the scene. The initial investigation by the authorities quickly determined that their deaths were the result of foul play, officially ruling the case a homicide. Michael Cooks, a young male, thus became another victim of gun violence in the city, his future extinguished in a brutal and unsolved crime.
Despite the efforts of the LMPD Homicide Unit, the case has grown cold. To date, no suspects have been identified in connection with the murders of Michael Cooks and Maleke Seviour.
