The African-American male was outside a barbershop near the intersection of 28th Street and Grand Avenue on September 8, 2012, when gunfire erupted just after 7 p.m. in the Parkland neighborhood.
Witnesses reported seeing a man exit a vehicle and open fire, unleashing a barrage of shots that struck Robbins.
One bystander described the sound of the gunshots as loud as a cannon, feeling the vibrations from the powerful blasts. In the immediate aftermath, Robbins was found bleeding in the doorway of the barbershop. He was rushed to University Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he died from multiple gunshot wounds.
