In the early morning hours of a late spring day in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of 30-year-old Blair Wells was tragically cut short. On May 30, 2021, Wells was at the Green Light Lounge, an adult nightclub located on Seventh Street Road. An altercation led to security escorting him from the establishment.
In a sudden turn of events, another man, identified as 32-year-old Elijah Carter, allegedly brandished a firearm and opened fire, fatally shooting 44-year-old Dion Rudolph, who was
also at the club. As Carter and Wells attempted to flee the scene, Rudolph and another bystander reportedly returned fire. In the exchange of gunfire, Wells was struck.
A witness transported Wells to Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, and he was later transferred to University Hospital. Despite medical efforts, Blair Wells succumbed to his injuries the following day, on May 31, 2021. The entire incident was reportedly captured on surveillance video.
Following an investigation, the Louisville Metro Police Department arrested Elijah Carter. He was charged with two counts of murder for the deaths of both Blair Wells and Dion Rudolph. Additionally, Carter faced charges of four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and tampering with physical evidence.
