In the early morning hours of July 2, 2022, in Louisville, Kentucky, 13-year-old Allen Gregory Wilson was fatally shot. A student at Noe Middle School, Allen was known for his love of football and basketball and his competitive yet friendly nature. His father, Gregory Wilson, described him as a loving son who never met a stranger.
Louisville Metro Police officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2200 block of Wilson Avenue in the Park Hill neighborhood at approximately 3:50
a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Allen suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to the University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit is actively investigating the shooting. Despite their efforts and appeals to the community for any information that could lead to a breakthrough in the case, no arrests have been made. The case remains unsolved, leaving a void in the lives of his family and friends, who continue to seek justice for the young teen whose life was cut short by gun violence. The community has held vigils in his memory, remembering a vibrant young boy and hoping for answers.
