In the Klondike neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, a concerned citizen's call to the police on the afternoon of December 8, 2023, led to a grim discovery. A vehicle had been left running near an apartment complex at the intersection of Breckenridge Lane and Mannerdale Drive. When Louisville Metro Police Department officers arrived just before 4 p.m., they found two men inside who were unresponsive.
Both men had sustained gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services.
One of the victims was identified as Rashon Tyler Holloway, a 28-year-old Black / African American man. The other individual was 27-year-old Troy D. Young Jr. The Jefferson County Coroner's office confirmed that both men died as a result of their injuries. Described as a loving father and son, Rashon's death prompted an outpouring of remembrances on memorial platforms.
The Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit is handling the ongoing investigation into the double homicide. Authorities have been working to determine the relationship between Holloway and Young and the circumstances that led to their deaths. To date, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shootings. The case remains an open investigation, and police have asked anyone with information to come forward.
