Johnathon Lee Rodgers, a 14-year-old male, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky. Known affectionately as “Man-Man,” he was born on September 8, 2009. Those who knew him described him as a kind and selfless young man with an infectious smile and a maturity beyond his years. He was known for his willingness to help others and his ability to light up any room.
A dedicated family person, he was also an enthusiastic gamer who enjoyed sharing moments on Instagram.
The fatal incident occurred around 9:19 p.m. in the 3400 block of Garland Avenue in the Chickasaw neighborhood. When Louisville Metro Police arrived at the scene, they found Johnathon in the front yard of a residence with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time of the initial reports, the Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit was investigating the shooting. It was reported that what led to the shooting was unclear, and authorities had not identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the case.
