In the late hours of a Tuesday in November 2021, the life of 33-year-old Justin T. Housewright came to a tragic and violent end. The male victim, from Louisville, was discovered in a field in Graves County, Kentucky, having been shot multiple times. An autopsy would later confirm that he died from those gunshot wounds.
The investigation into his death revealed a harrowing tale of abduction and murder that began in Paducah.
Authorities determined that Housewright had been beaten and kidnapped before being fatally shot as he attempted to escape his captors. The events that transpired in the hours leading up to his death prompted a significant police investigation that quickly led to the identification of multiple suspects.
Within a short period, seven individuals from Paducah were arrested in connection with the crime. The suspects, facing a range of serious charges, included William Tabor and Chelsey Doss, who were charged with murder. Others taken into custody were James Kortz, Tyanna Sims, Casey Glunt, and Lisa Tabor. A seventh person, Steven Heflin, was later arrested and charged with kidnapping, accused of assisting in restraining Housewright and threatening him with bodily harm.
