On November 25, 1992, Charles Hansen, a 78-year-old resident of Paducah, Kentucky, was found severely injured on the front porch of his home on Adams Street. During a police investigation, Hansen revealed that a white male had broken into his house while he was asleep and demanded money. The assailant assaulted Hansen, leaving him with multiple puncture wounds. Hansen was immediately taken to Western Baptist Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries two days later on November 27, 1992.
