On July 24, 2006, 81-year-old Dr. Frank Shemwell was found dead in his home in Paducah, Kentucky, following a house fire. When emergency responders arrived, they discovered his body on the kitchen floor. The investigation revealed that the fire had been deliberately set, and an autopsy later determined that Shemwell had suffered from both blunt-force trauma and smoke inhalation, leading to his death. The case was quickly classified as a homicide.
