In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Louisville, Kentucky, tragedy struck 36-year-old Jesse Workman. On September 11, 2022, at approximately 12:30 a.m., he was found with a gunshot wound on South 7th Street, near Algonquin Parkway. Despite the arrival of emergency medical services, Workman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting led Louisville Metro Police Homicide detectives to 47-year-old Mark Owen.
Surveillance footage from the area reportedly captured Owen shooting Workman. Following this discovery, Owen was arrested and taken into custody without incident.
Mark Owen has been charged with murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and tampering with physical evidence in connection with Jesse Workman's death. The case has since moved through the court system, with Owen appearing in Jefferson District Court.
