Jordan Carson Adams, a 19-year-old from Minneapolis, MN, was tragically shot and killed on May 6, 2015. The incident occurred inside an apartment located on the 2100 block of 3rd Avenue South. Adams was shot in the abdomen around 3:30 p.m. and later succumbed to his injuries at Hennepin County Medical Center. The shooting was reported to have involved individuals who were acquainted with each other, and it was the ninth homicide in Minneapolis for the year 2015.
Following the incident,
Minneapolis police arrested two suspects in connection with the shooting. Eugene Watkins, an 18-year-old, was identified as the primary suspect and was charged with intentional second-degree murder. Watkins was accused of shooting Adams during what was described as a drug-related altercation. Trevone Seantez Little, a 21-year-old, was also taken into custody, although the specifics of his involvement were not immediately disclosed by the authorities.
Both Watkins and Little were booked into the Hennepin County Adult Detention Center without bail. The investigation revealed that neither the victim nor the suspects were residents of the apartment where the shooting took place. Neighbors had previously complained about noise and traffic associated with the apartment, and a resident reported hearing an argument followed by a gunshot that pierced her wall.
