On January 13, 2017, Jamison Christopher Anderson, a 20-year-old resident of Vineland, Minnesota, was fatally shot by a Mille Lacs County Sheriff's deputy during an attempted home invasion robbery. The incident occurred on the Mille Lacs reservation, where four men broke into a home that had more than a dozen occupants.
