On a Tuesday afternoon, May 30, 2017, in the Jordan neighborhood of North Minneapolis, 22-year-old Aaron Jerome Williams Jr., a Black male, was fatally shot while sitting in a parked blue van. The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. near the corner of 30th Avenue North and Irving Avenue North. Witnesses reported seeing a man exit a white truck, possibly a Jeep, and get into the passenger seat of Williams' van just before a gunshot was heard.
