In the early morning hours of what should have been a celebration, the life of Justin "Juice" Marshall, a 37-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short in Minneapolis. On July 25, 2025, his 37th birthday, Marshall was biking home after celebrating with friends when he was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Franklin and Lyndale avenues.
First responders found Marshall with life-threatening gunshot wounds and transported him to Hennepin Healthcare, where he was pronounced dead. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner later confirmed that Justin Adams Marshall's death was a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.
Known affectionately as "DJ Juice," Marshall was a beloved and well-known figure woven into the fabric of the south Minneapolis community. For years, he was a friendly face at the local Kowalski's Market on Lyndale Avenue, where he had worked since he was a teenager and had even gained national recognition for his award-winning grocery bagging skills. His warmth and talent extended beyond the grocery store; he was a DJ who brought joy to community events and a local gym, an illustrator, and a friend to many. According to police, it is believed Marshall was speaking with a man inside a vehicle just before the shooting.
