On a cold Valentine's Day evening in Minneapolis, Minnesota, tragedy struck, claiming the life of 51-year-old Presley LC Taylor Jr., a Black/African American male. The events of February 14, 2021, would leave a community searching for answers in the wake of a brutal double homicide.
That night, near Roosevelt High School in the 4000 block of 28th Avenue South, police responded to a call at 10:42 p.m.. Upon arrival, they discovered a crashed Chevrolet Impala with three occupants inside.
Presley LC Taylor Jr. and 34-year-old Nicole Shannon Columbus were found deceased inside the vehicle. A third individual was also in the car and had sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed that both Taylor and Columbus had died from gunshot wounds to the head, ruling their deaths as homicides. The investigation into the double homicide is ongoing, but as of the latest available reports, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
