In the early hours of Sunday, March 25, 2018, the life of 19-year-old Alexander M. LaGarde of Chanhassen, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Minneapolis. The incident occurred shortly after midnight in the 2400 block of Ogema Place, within the Little Earth of United Tribes community. LaGarde, who was visiting the community, was standing on a sidewalk with a group of other young people when two men approached them.
