On New Year's Day 2020, the life of 51-year-old Angela Wynn, a White female from Badger, Minnesota, was tragically cut short. On that Wednesday, January 1st, Angela had gone to the rural Badger home of Angelo O. Borreson, 56, as an act of kindness. She had agreed to pick him up and help him get gasoline for his vehicle so he could get to work.
The situation took a fatal turn when an argument erupted. Borreson told investigators that Angela began yelling at him to hurry up as he was not ready to leave. In response, she went out to her minivan and started honking the horn and continuing to yell. This seemingly minor dispute escalated dramatically when Borreson grabbed a 12-gauge shotgun.
He walked outside and pointed the firearm at Angela, later claiming he only wanted her to leave his property. According to his account to law enforcement, the shotgun then "fired three shots in succession," though he claimed he didn't know how the gun discharged. The minivan, with Angela inside, rolled in reverse and came to a stop in a nearby field. Borreson himself called 911 and admitted, "I shot her."
When authorities arrived at the scene on the 27800 block of County Road 4, they found Angela deceased inside her still-running minivan. An autopsy later confirmed that she had died from multiple gunshot wounds, having sustained significant injuries to her left shoulder and the left side of her head.
The day after the shooting, Angelo O. Borreson admitted to shooting Angela, stating that he had grown tired of her yelling at him. He was arrested and subsequently charged with second-degree murder in Roseau County District Court for the death of Angela Wynn.
