On the afternoon of Christmas Eve in 2020, a dispute between two men at a Minneapolis light rail station ended in gunfire, leaving one man dead. Malcom Jamal Williams, a 29-year-old Black male, was shot and killed at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the Lake Street light rail stop, located on the 2300 block of East Lake Street.
