On September 25, 2021, Roland Chalmous Hopewell, aged 36, was tragically shot and killed in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The incident occurred outside GM Tobacco on Minnehaha Avenue. According to reports, Hopewell was with his girlfriend, who was pregnant with his child, and her infant child when the shooting took place. The couple was leaving the store when they were confronted by Myshun Steven Cason Logan, aged 35, who is the ex-boyfriend of Hopewell's girlfriend and the father of her child.
