On November 16, 2019, Mohamed Ahmed Hassan, a 30-year-old resident of Columbia Heights, was fatally shot near the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The incident occurred in the Marcy-Holmes neighborhood, specifically near the intersection of Main Street Southeast and 6th Avenue Southeast. First responders found Hassan in the street and transported him to Hennepin Healthcare, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
