Walter Nathaniel Haynes, aged 30, was fatally shot in downtown Minneapolis on January 7, 2017. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, just after 2 a.m., near a bustling area filled with nightlife. Haynes was one of three individuals shot that weekend in two separate incidents, which led to widespread concern over gun violence in the area.
