Walter Nathaniel Haynes, aged 30, was fatally shot in downtown Minneapolis on January 7, 2017. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, just after 2 a.m., near a bustling area filled with nightlife. Haynes was one of three individuals shot that weekend in two separate incidents, which led to widespread concern over gun violence in the area. He was critically injured and transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
