In a Minneapolis apartment on the evening of April 15, 2022, a tragic incident unfolded that ended the life of 10-year-old Amare Rasaun Mayberry-Campbell. The young Black / African American boy was in the apartment with his 12-year-old brother when the older sibling discovered a handgun. The boys were alone and unsupervised at the time. Amare, a resident of Andover, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.
