Derrick Gregory Martin, a 20-year-old African-American man from Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, was fatally shot on the evening of May 24, 2010. The incident occurred along a popular and heavily used walking and biking path near Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis. Martin was ambushed and sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen. His body was discovered by police next to the path.
