In the early morning hours of November 5, 2020, the life of 21-year-old Mohamed Khadar Hayir, a Black male from Brooklyn Park, was tragically cut short in a south Minneapolis parking lot. The incident unfolded around 3 a.m. at a Speedway gas station located on the 2200 block of Lyndale Avenue South. What began as a dispute between Hayir and another individual, with whom he was acquainted, quickly escalated into fatal violence.
