On the evening of May 6, 2021, a stop for gasoline turned into a fatal encounter for 19-year-old George Frances Zeon, a Black male from Plymouth, Minnesota. Zeon was with his girlfriend at an Amstar gas station on West Broadway in north Minneapolis at approximately 5:50 p.m., simply pumping gas into his vehicle. Suddenly, two young men approached him and his girlfriend. The men confronted Zeon, questioning him about a supposed gang affiliation. Confused by the query, Zeon denied being in a gang. ...
