In the middle of a summer afternoon in Minneapolis on July 16, 2026, Christian Dior Byrd, a 36-year-old man, was riding his bicycle on the 200 block of 27th Avenue North. As he approached a security gate at a local business, he was followed by another man, later identified as 37-year-old Arnold Benedict Cole. The two men had a brief and tense interaction, culminating in a tragic and fatal encounter.
