On the evening of November 19, 2024, a tragedy unfolded in south Minneapolis that cut short the life of Tedrick Lamount Lamar Davis, an 18-year-old Black male. At approximately 8:30 p.m., Minneapolis police responded to calls of gunfire in the 2500 block of Ogema Place. Upon their arrival at the apartment complex, they discovered the young man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office later confirmed that his death was a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds to the head.
In the wake of this violence, a community was left searching for answers. Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department began the arduous task of piecing together the events that led to the fatal shooting. As of now, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and authorities have not released any information regarding potential suspects or a motive. No arrests have been made in connection with the case, and the investigation is ongoing. Police have urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in bringing those responsible to justice.

His family shared that he had a profound and genuine love for children and was fiercely protective of his sisters. In the midst of their grief, his family has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from the community and has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help with funeral expenses.
