In the early evening of July 21, 2015, a burst of violence shattered the summer calm in Kansas City, Kansas, leaving a family to grapple with a sudden and devastating loss. Kevin H. Boswell, a 39-year-old Black/African American male, was the victim of a fatal shooting that day. The incident occurred just after 6 p.m. in the 3000 block of North 27th Street, outside a local liquor store.
