In the early morning hours of April 26, 2016, a visit to family in Salina, Kansas, turned tragic for Adonis Denell Loudermilk, a 32-year-old Black / African American man from Lincoln, Nebraska. Emergency services responded to a call of shots fired at the Starlite Motel on East Pacific around 6:13 a.m. In the north end of the motel's parking lot, they discovered Loudermilk on the ground, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. It was later determined that he had been shot multiple times.
