In a quiet duplex in Kansas City, Kansas, on April 2, 2018, a grim discovery shattered the peace of the neighborhood. David Rawlins, a 46-year-old male, was found deceased inside the residence, the victim of a brutal act of violence. He was not alone; alongside him were the bodies of two other men, 51-year-old Edward Rawlins and 40-year-old Addrin Coats, in what was quickly determined to be a triple homicide.
The alarm was raised by a woman who happened upon a distressing scene near the front door and immediately alerted the authorities.
The ensuing investigation into the three men's deaths, all of whom had been shot, led law enforcement to a single suspect. MonDale Douglas, who was 29 years old at the time of the killings, was arrested in connection with the crime. The case against him was built on evidence that linked him to the scene of the murders.
