In the early morning hours of September 2, 2018, the life of 37-year-old Tracey A. Carter, a Black male, was tragically cut short in Kansas City, Kansas. Gunfire erupted inside a residence located in the 3100 block of North Mellier Avenue, shattering the pre-dawn quiet at approximately 4:30 a.m. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Mr. Carter suffering from gunshot wounds. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life.
