In the early morning hours of February 23, 2019, the life of 38-year-old Eric Jackson, a Black male from Shawnee, Kansas, was tragically cut short. Jackson was leaving his job in the industrial Fairfax area of Kansas City, Kansas, a routine he had likely done countless times before. Shortly after 1:30 a.m., in the 200 block of Kindleberger Road, the night was shattered by the sound of gunfire.
