Gerry G. Grovenburg, a 61-year-old White/Caucasian male, was a well-known and respected figure in his community. For 35 years, he had been the proprietor of Mr. G's Liquor Store in Shawnee, Kansas, a business he founded in 1976. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, on August 7, 1948, Grovenburg was a devoted family man, especially close to his son, Michael. He was looking forward to retirement in the near future.
