On the night of October 5, 2020, in Kansas City, Kansas, a young Hispanic man named Jonathon Perez, 25, became the city's 42nd homicide victim of the year. Officers responded to a call of a shooting at approximately 10:25 p.m. and discovered Perez outside a residence in the 600 block of Stine Avenue with gunshot wounds.
