In the summer of 2021, a bright life was tragically cut short in Topeka, Kansas. Nevaeh Martinez, a 17-year-old Black female, was fatally shot on the evening of July 3rd. The vibrant teenager, described by her mother as being "full of life," was not the intended target of the violence that ended her life.
